2009 ITINERARY
Day 1. Jumping Crocodile Cruise, Kakadu National Park, Bowali, Ubirr Rock Art
Depart Darwin and journey to the Adelaide River to join the Jumping Crocodile Cruise. Watch for wildlife and witness the agility of saltwater crocodiles as they leap from the water. Then enter World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park and visit the Bowali Visitor Centre, learning about the wonders of the park. Continue to the ancient Aboriginal rock art sites at Ubirr.
Day 2. Nourlangie Art Sites, Warradjan Cultural Center, Yellow Water Cruise
Travel to Nourlangie Rock to discover the renowned Aboriginal art site. Continue to the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre before taking a wildlife cruise on Yellow Water billabong. Leaving Kakadu National Park, travel through the small township of Pine Creek to Katherine. Katherine is a busy little tourist town. The nearby Nitmiluk National Park is home to Katherine Gorge.
Day 3. Nitmiluk National Park, Katherine Gorge, Edith Falls, Adelaide River War Memorial, Darwin
This morning journey into Nitmiluk National Park. See the spectacular 13 gorges formed by the mighty Katherine River cutting its way through the Arnhem Land plateau. Enjoy a guided cruise between the sheer and brilliantly colored cliffs of Katherine Gorge. Keep an eye out for wildlife and learn the significance of the Aboriginal art that adorns the gorge walls. Continue on to the beautiful Edith Falls, where there's time for a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters before your returns to Darwin.

Day 1. Kakadu National Park, Ubirr Art Site, Guluyambi Cruise, Hawk Dreaming (lunch included)
Depart Darwin and journey by 4WD to World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. Travel to the ancient Aboriginal rock art sites at Ubirr. Learn of the significance connected to these x-ray style paintings. You will also see the delicate Mimi paintings, believed to be older than the x-ray style art. Enjoy lunch in a bush setting before joining an Aboriginal guide for the Guluyambi cruise on the East Alligator River. As you glide along the tranquil waters, learn of the flora, fauna, Aboriginal mythology and history of the region from your guide. Continue on to the Aboriginal land of Hawk Dreaming for those staying at our Exclusive Hawk Dreaming Wilderness Camp.
Stay: Kakadu National Park - Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn Room (First-Class).
Day 2. Nourlangie Rock, Pine Creek, Katherine Gorge Sunset Dinner Cruise (Dinner included)
Visit Bowali Visitor Centre to view a series of informative displays on the flora and fauna found within the park. Travel to Nourlangie Rock to discover the renowned Aboriginal art site, view galleries of unique x-ray style artwork. Continue to the southern region of the park and through the small township of Pine Creek, stop for lunch (own expense). Travel on to Katherine, a busy little tourist town. Join the Nabilil Dreaming Sunset Cultural Dinner Cruise on Katherine Gorge. Learn about the spirit, history and culture of the Jawoyn people as you cruise along the first two tranquil gorges. As the sunsets, enjoy a three course buffet dinner as you take in the surroundings by candlelight.

Day 3. Litchfield National Park, Florence Falls, Wangi Falls, Darwin
Depart Katherine and travel to the Adelaide River War Cemetery, the resting place for many Second World War soldiers and civilians killed in the 1942 air raids on Darwin. Continue on to Litchfield National Park, stop to view the intriguing termite mounds, some standing well over two metres tall. See the picturesque double waterfall that forms Florence Falls, surrounded by lush rainforest. Stop for lunch (own expense), then travel to the rock pool at Wangi Falls. Enjoy a refreshing swim or nature walk to the top of the falls. Return to Darwin, arriving approximately 6.00pm.
