Great tour - it's horrifying when you begin to think about what happened there and chilling to stand where it took place.

We just came back from Berlin and did the 'Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial' tour with a fantastic guide Arja and we really enjoyed the tour. Visiting a concentration camp was not a happy experience at all, but Arja did a great job of getting us all out to Oranienburg and back again on the train and ensuring that we were prepared for the long day ahead, i.e. food and drink as their are limited facilities available at the camp.

Arja's knowledge of the camp's history as both a concentration camp and a Russian prison were fantastic and there is a wealth of information to take in and so much to see that we were shown the key exhibits to give us an understanding of what life was like for the prisoners held at the camp. You get the offer to stay longer after the tour but it is a big day at 6 hours and with so many other things to do in Berlin this was enough time. Arja was also great and assisting people to get to other parts of Berlin to do other activities after the tour which is a great help.

If you have the time then I can definitely recommend doing this tour as it won't disappoint at all and you get enough information about the day in the life of a prisoner and details about this period of German history.

Very informative and a good introduction to the concentration camps since it was the first one open. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew a lot on the subject
