Located in the historic 280 seat Leidseplein Theater, in the heart of Amsterdam, Boom Chicago performs seven nights a week. The English-language comedy shows are an exhilarating mix of sharp writing, quick improvisation, music, video and spectacle. Boom Chicago is especially known for their improvisation that incorporates suggestions from the audience and the issues of the day. Get ready to laugh! Before the performance, Head Chef Dave Cahill serves a delicious dinner.

Many people see Boom Chicago in their theater in the heart of Amsterdam, where they perform almost every night. The venue seats 280 people and offers a separate bar/lounge with a terrace on the Leidseplein.

In the theater, guests are seated at long tables and can enjoy a delicious dinner before the show. Head Chef Dave Cahill creates fresh and innovative menus that change with the season and satisfy different budgets.

Itinerary:

The actors are known for their quick improvisation. They get suggestions from the audience and turn them into scenes and jokes that are hilarious and different every night. The written sketches are topical and sharp. The live musician and a multimedia technician add music, lights, internet and video. A Boom Chicago show is exciting, unique and full of big laughs.

Yankee Come Back!
The world is excited about the arrival of Barack Obama. Is this the comeback for American leadership on the world stage? Can the U.S. climb out of the political and economic malaise that eight years of George W. Bush have left behind? Boom Chicago is optimistic! This year also marks the 400 year anniversary of the Dutch discovery New York, then New Amsterdam. Perfect timing to celebrate the ties between America and the Netherlands. We can use American dollars, but should we expect the massive return of the loud U.S. tourist with new gym shoes, a belt bag and big hips? Do we have to put away our preconceived notion of Americans now that they have chosen a black president? How hypocritical and shallow are the Dutch themselves?

Our new show has nothing to do with the environment and everything to do with greed and individual pleasure. The American response to the green, "Last One to Leave the Planet Turn Off the Lights" features all new material that highlights that oh-so American feature:  Greed. Bush might be going, but American consumerism is here to stay. The hell with conservation; I want mine now! This plus a new mix of Boom's favorite scenes and improvisations from the past 15 years is a recipe for a hilarious night out.
 
Late Nite Improv
Unique, Raw and Scriptless!
Once a week, the entire Boom Chicago cast and tech crew perform together, resulting in a completely improvised party! The energy at a LN show is unlike any other Boom show. When there are no scripts, anything can happen….and it usually does.
This two-hour experience is relaxed and exciting. The actors take a seat right in the audience and every single scene is improvised on the spot based on audience suggestions.
 
Stand Up Gong Show
Boom Chicago's new stand up comedy night combines established stand up headliners with an exciting Idols-style format that showcases the best and bravest new talent. Then throw in the always pleasurable Dutch desire for leedvermaak and you've got The Stand Up Gong Show. Comedians are in Dutch and English and you can come back every week to see new talent. It's always over by midnight and you can catch the last tram home.
