Good tour! If you like the history of the Romans and beautiful landscapes, you will enjoy this tour.Reviewed by: Tiermark, November 2013
Segovia is amazing, as for the Alcaza, i can not sea the front, but the whole trip is fabulous.Reviewed by: Victor, November 2013
If you're in Madrid for an extended period of time, it's good to get out and see the countryside and the attractions of Avila and Segovia. The commentary on the sites you see is pretty mediocre but \Viator's Spanish partner does get you there and around the sites with no glitches. The tourist class food at lunch was the worst we had in a month of travel in Spain so upgrading may be a good idea.Reviewed by: Ellen D G, November 2013
The departure point was quite chaotic with little information given out until a woman with a soft voice called for this groups departure. Had I not been standing next to her, I would never have heard her. This woman turned out to be our guide. While on the bus and using a microphone one could hear her. I loved the fact that she gave her tour in Spanish and English. However she speaks with a soft voice and a heavy Spanish lisp with more Spanish than English. When she spoke in English first it made it easier to understand her Spanish. When we departed the bus in Avila she advised a pick up point somewhere on the "other side....." of something and we were unable to hear. Didn't think this would become an issue as we were a group and not likely to become separated. Plus we had the distinction of having the very tallest person in the group. Rather difficult to lose him. Alas, we were. After much angst and thanks to some employees of businesses in Avila we were reunited with the tour. While in Segovia we were given enough time to "look" at the aqueducts and move on. There was a tour group in front of ours With a guide who gave better information. Many in our group moved ahead of our guide to listen to her.
Overall, Avila and Segovia are stunning. I am thrilled we were able to go to each of these cities and would recommend going to each. From my understanding this local tour operator is in general wonderful and I would be willing to use them again. I would not however under any circumstances take another tour with the female guide that we had. The beauty and history was marred by the stress and unpleasantness of this guide.
The way the tour was outlined is a not worth the money. We spent more than 5 hours of the 9 hours of
The tour on te bus traveling to and between the cities.
The places visited were mainly churches and ca Thessaly, and af ter being i Spain for a week, what do I need to
See one more cathedral. Will all due respect, the tour missed on the rich history of this country.
The guide, Carla, was curt, unpleasant, and very redundant with the useless information that poor guides usually end up filling the time, such as dates, distances, and warnings as far as where to meet, etc, literally repeating every single one at least 5 times, let alone, every thing was repea Ted in Spanish and English!!
Does the visiting tourist really care what distances lays between the cities, or how many people live in the cities visited? I personally would mention once ,and spend all the time discussing, history, which is so rich in this country , but unfortunately the guide missed it.information was short, not willing to answer questions, and simply didn't seem to be enjoying her job( at least on this beautiful day).
