A great day trip from NY. Loved the Amish buggy ride as we are quilters. The tour guides were very knowlegable.

A horrible wet day. The trip to Philadelphia was interspersed with information from our guide about American history. We stopped for breakfast in Philadelphia and were herded into a restaurant for a buffet, which was not included in the price and not great - there were lots of other eateries in the same building which we did not discover until later - would have liked the choice. We were then given time to see the Liberty Bell and walk around. After this we set off for Amish country. The countryside was lovely. We stopped for lunch at a cute, but very touristy, village area with shops. Despite the rain, we went for a buggy ride with the Amish, stopping to be sold home made cookies and cards. I did enjoy the day and found it interesting but it was all too touristy and commercial.

Long day and did`nt really see/learn much.Wasn`t comfortable with whole Amish part of trip , it was all too contrived and commercialised. Not at all what we expected, you get the feeling the Amish people have sold out their ideals .
