The 2012 opera season at the Sydney Opera House promises to exceed all expectations as new stars join favorites from previous seasons to transport audiences to another world. Whether you are an opera aficionado or just looking to add a little something special to your Sydney vacation, a performance at the Sydney Opera House isn't just any old night at the opera!
Performances are held in the Opera Theatre. With seating for 1547 people, its the second largest venue at Sydney Opera House. As the operas are performed in their original language (mostly Italian), subtitles in English are projected onto a screen above the stage.
You will begin the evening with a guided tour of Australia's most famous icon, the Sydney Opera House, followed by a three-course pre-theatre dinner in either Guillaume at Bennelong or Aria Restaurants. A performance by Opera Australia will complete your Red Carpet experience. You will receive an exclusive Sydney Opera House gift to take away as a souvenir.

Situated in the southern sail of the Sydney Opera House, diners sit beneath Joern Utzon's vaulted concrete "ribs". Both the restaurant and the bar offer spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, the Bridge, Royal Botanic Gardens, Circular Quay and the city. Guillaume's superbly crafted dishes and the establishment's commitment to providing world class service, combines to offer a truly exceptional dining experience.
