Hohenwerfen Fortress is definitely worth the visit if you have time while in Salzburg. We had a great afternoon there - although you probably don't need more than about 3 hours as it's not a huge fortress. Plenty of time to do a guided tour and see the falconry show.

Panorama ( tour operators) just dropped us off and we had to pay extra to get into the castle/museum. I would shop around and see if there are tours with other companies that are all inclusive. Basically all we got was a bus ride to the castle from Salzburg, which was 80 euro for two people for a 45 minute trip - expensive! Especially if you add the entrance costs. Worth the visit but an expensive 4 hours.
