What do you do, if you want to snorkel in The Great Barrier Reef, but you can't swim?? You seek the help from crew member Max from the company Down Under Cruise and Dive, who is my new hero. He helped me not only to get into the water, but took me on an amazing journey, where we swam with a tiny little shark, saw lots of turtles and colourful fish - big and small. I'm happy to report we even found Nemo!!! I flew back to Cairns by helicopter...as you do ;-) The weather wasn't brilliant, as we had the left over rain from the cyclone. Still a day I'll cherish for the rest of my days !!Reviewed by: Inga Rasmussen, April 2014
We went out on a very lovely sunny and calm day so we enjoyed the trip very much. Snorkeling on two different spot was great. It was a bit crowded, as they try to get everyone in the water, even non-swimmers, who tend to stand on the corals (what is definitely very bad, espacially with fins) and keep hold on them etc. Food was nice, enough changing rooms etc. Really georgeous was our helicopter flight was, I really recommend this combination of cruise out and fly in.Reviewed by: Dr. Dorothee M, January 2014
We had a super day- the arrangements were perfect; the staff on the tour was cheerful and very supportive as we went snorkeling- appreciate their patience and concern for our safety. On-board lunch was outstanding- we had a memorable day and recommend this highlyReviewed by: ASHOK M, India, November 2013
Overall, it was a great day!
The staff were great!
The reef is spectacular!
The helicopter 'return' was not good value as it was supposed to be a 30" tour, but turned out to
be only a quick return to shore
Poor day!! Really looked forward to this trip. Helicopter bit was fine but boat was very, very poor.
As we arrived by helicopter the transfer boat was not ready. Nor was the glass bottomed boat. Glass bottom boat?? That's a joke. It had a window in the hull to look through. View of reef was poor.
On the boat unless your blond with boobs then avoid. The staff were totally uninterseted in us. The food was stone cold and inedible but worse was to follow.
During the limping back of the ship, my wife and I had to listen to a crew member boast of his sexual exploits to some customers and two teenage girls. Foul and abusive language and I'm no prude but there is a time and place for things.
I suggest you avoid. Helicopter was only decent bit. Avoid if possible.Reviewed by: Goggleman, November 2013
