Well organised and covered all the must see sights in Kyoto.

While this trip is worth doing, I wish I would have been provided with a detailed itinerary before starting the trip. I had no forewarning that two of the days would be extremely long. The first day we were picked up from our hotel in Tokyo (a little late) at 9.45am. We were not to our hotel in Kyoto until 11pm. I'm sure the itinerary could be modified so that the day is more manageable. For starters, the blatant shopping stops could be eliminated.

I was also extremely disappointed that NONE of our time spend on the bullet train was in the daylight. This is easily remedied. The last day in Kyoto is a free day...schedule an earlier train back to Tokyo. This would also eliminate the issue of arriving Tokyo Terminal at 9.15pm and still having to take a taxi to a hotel.

Amazing coordination of guides, buses, mtg times etc. The bus trip to Mt Fuji with boat trip and cable car ride were very nice. Quick stop at Mt. Fuji visitor center could have been a bit longer. Kyoto 1/2 tours all in one day- we assumed one tour each day not all in one and one day free.

The weather was so cloudy that we couldn't see Mt. Fuji. couldn't even get past the gift shop. The tour operator knew there was zero visibility and the "stations" were closed but did not cancel. Instead a bus load of people rode 1 1/2 hours to the Fuji gift shop - then to Hakone -where because of the same weather we had zero visibility and visited 3 gift shops.... Nara and Kyoto were better. But just a heads up to anyone thinking about the tour. The staff is very good - helpful in transferring trains and getting around the various towns. English-speaking guides are quite competent.
