Private Left Bank Walking Tour and Wine Tasting

Discover French wine where the locals themselves go and experience the historic Left Bank districts of Paris and its famous buildings.

Begin your walking tour at the bottom of  the picturesque rue Mouffetard with its history, myth and mystique which is also home to Ernest Hemingway. After your first glass of wine you will pass Saint Medard, a church founded in 1140, and see the bar from the famous french film "Amelie" before heading up the hill towards the Pantheon. This massive temple was commissioned in 1744 by Louis XV and built by the architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot. It was originally a church, but under the revolution it became a burial place for the honored men of France. It houses the bodies of Voltaire, Rousseau, Mirabeau, Marat, Victor Hugo and Emile Zola.

Arrive at a small local wine bar resembling an old Parisian bistro with tiled floor, wooden chairs, and old black and white photos on the wall. Afterwards, make your way downhill and pass the Church of Sainte Genevieve built  between 1492 and 1626 and noted for it stained glass windows, as well as the famous Sorbonne University and rue de la Huchette home of one of the oldest Jazz Clubs in Paris.

As you approach the Seine you will see Notre Dame before arriving at your next tasting that will take place at a Specialist of Bordeaux where you'll lose the notion of time, perceiving not only the authenticity of the decor, but also that unique atmosphere that can only be found in places steeped in history!

End the afternoon at a small traditional bistro where the service is friendly and the walls are covered with old advertising posters from the bookseller's stalls along the river.

Cheese and Charcuterie are not included in your tour but feel free to order a plate in anyone of the bars you visit.
