Magical evening, pick up was on time and dinner was good quality. Plenty of time to explore the house and garden which were both stunning. Would recommend warm clothing as it became very cold by the end of the evening.

Picked up nicely at hotel in van with only 6 other people, taken directly to site, nice three course dinner with of course wine, then taken to tour of Palace, bypassed long lines and entered nicely and spent enjoyable time in the castle instead of waiting in long lines outside. Should make note not handicapped accessible, but the steps were not enough to stop my wife. At the end after the fireworks, taken back to the hotel. Nice.

Driver-host was competent and friendly. Building and grounds were impressive. Dinner was quite good, except that the wines were of less quality than expected for the 350th anniversary; however, this is not to say that the wines were bad or not good. That would not be the case. In keeping with being true to the era of the Chateau, the lighting inside was somewhat dim, ergo, viewing the art objects at night was not condusive to complete enjoyment; it is better, perhaps, to view the interior of the Chateau in the daytime. Everyone who was connected with the place was friendly and competent. The place really wows one.

This was such an interesting evening!
Bad timing on our part though, since our visit coincided with the beginning of school holidays meaning (a) so many delays on the roads through and out of Paris and (b) crowds at the château itself, making progress into it slow. In fact, I had to race through the last part of the visit in order not to miss the fireworks. Still, as a somewhat reluctant tourist, I enjoyed the fact that this is evidently a monument visited "the French" themselves: lots of grandparents and grandchildren having a great time together.
The visit organized by Viatour was great, and our guide friendly and helpful (thanks for the drop off to where I was staying). "My traveling companion" ie my Aunt and I were part of a group of 7 and would have been very happy to eat at a communal table in the restaurant at Vaux-le-Vicomte, but instead we had a table just for the two of us and the other part of our tour had their own table, which was in fact really nice. Very efficient service, pleasant meal.
The candlelit gardens were spectacular.
The only hitch was that the queues to get in to the castle were so long that I didn't get to spend enough time in it.
All in all, a great evening.
