I purcahsed the power Pass for 3 days. It allowed us to go on three expensive bus/walking tours for free, but only one, the Katrina bus tour, was available when we were there. This tour was excellent, though. Cudos to the guide/driver!! He also made excellent recommendations to a restaurant, the Palm Court, which was out of this world regarding menu and music. World class! The Power Pass gave us admission to very interesting museums, but I had to do a lot of work laying the puzzle of the different opening hours and days the museums were accessible. Everything closed at 5:00 pm. The map in the hotel lobby was maybe better than the maps given out with the Power Pass. (showed the tram lines.) I would have bought the power pass over again, but I felt "cheated on" when I missed so many trips I wanted to take becasue they weren't available on the days I was there. New Orleans is almost like an amusement park in itself, though. The history, culture, kitchen, and live jazz is very attractive, totally unforgettable.

The pass was good, lots of things to do and see. My only complaint was the plantation and swamp tours did not have transportation. Ticket agent did not seem to know how or who could provide transportation. We finally got a hold of tour itself and they provide transportation at an additional $30 per person and that was only because we did both the swamp tour and plantation tour in one day. I think it is realistic if you want to do all the tours out of town it will cost you an additional $100 if you do not have your own car.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

here is the problem I had. We booked a 3 day pass in New Orleans for 3 days starting on Feb 20. On arrival on the 19th we found out that everything is closed on the Feb 21 due to Mardi Gras and this would not be a problem but we were flying out at 6:00 Am friday morning. We compained to Power Pass that this was unfair and they did come through and did issue us a 1 day pass so we could complete the 3 day pass without losing a day, but be aware. Power Pass will not tell you that there is a holiday and everything is closed and in my opinion they should be letting people know. We would have booked this differently if we would have known.
