The two day trips were a great introduction to the lakes district. A large area was covered with gifted guides with lots of local knowledge. I'm planning my next trip back to complete some of the splendid walks. My accommodation was excellent: the staff were friendly and professional, the room was clean and comfortable. The stand out component of my stay was the 3 course meal served each night. It was innovative and delicious, a job well doneReviewed by: Maria S, July 2013
This was a wonderful, and unforgettable trip. The Lindeth Howe Hotel was quite charming, the food was wonderful. The staff from the Mountain Goat, the travel service which took me on my daily tours were knowledgeable and adept at navigating the narrow roads. This is a good tour for the single traveller.Reviewed by: John S, June 2013
This trip was well worth every penny. As a first time solo traveller I was nervous about joining a tour and staying in a hotel on my own. But all my fears were put to rest from the moment I arrived. The hotel was fantastic. My room had superb views, was spotlessly clean and the hotel staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The tours were fascinating, the tour guides were interesting, amusing and just generally great. I cannot sing high enough praises for everyone involved who all contributed towards making my holiday one that I will not forget in a long time. Even the delightful waitress in the hotel restaurant. I arranged at the last minute to go on an additional tour and this was arranged without any problems as wellReviewed by: Sharon B, United Kingdom, May 2010
Great hotel with efficient staff and really good dinners. I was given the Westmorland Suite and that was fantastic! No mini fridge but otherwise really excellent. 2 full day Mountain Goat tours were interesting. Staff in the Windermere office were very helpful. Overall I enjoyed my trip - better weather would have made things perfect. I can't pin this disappointment on anyone so would definitely recommend this tour to people in the UK and abroad.Reviewed by: Uma K, September 2012
the tour for the 2 days was good. however, the hotel itself on its own is lovely but the room 201 they put us in was an attic room and small - cant imagine anyone calling it a superior room. we asked for a change of room but was decline even when guests have checked out on the 2nd and 3 rd nights- disappointed..............now when i go back dont think i want to stay despite dinner served was good.......Reviewed by: Aurelia Y, Singapore, October 2010
