It was a great time visiting Nikko from Tokyo. Along the way, our guide, Akiko told a story about the area that we passed. We could see some Tokyo area from the bus, and it was awesome. Nikko itself was very nice, fortunately it was sunny so it was perfect to walk around.

great way to learn lots about Japan that you donrt learn from Guide books. The lunch was disappointing though. I loved the cherry blossom rice and vegetable but the duck hotpot was so strongly flavoured I couldnt eat it.

I think a quality of this tour (and most of other tours) depends on the guide you get. After reading a lot of exciting reviews I was a little dissapointed that there were almost no comments from our guide during the long bus ride. The Toshogu shrine is very interesting, Imperial villa and a waterfall can be easily skipped.
